Providers on our platform often hear from their patients that they are seeking help for multiple conditions and we hear from our customers that they would strongly prefer a provider who can tailor their treatment to address their unique clinical needs. That’s where we come in – to help providers individualize the care their patients receive. Hims & Hers offers providers the capability to personalize a compounded treatment option for their patient, which can be fulfilled by one of our affiliated compounding pharmacies. For example, through the Hims & Hers platform, providers can prescribe a personalized treatment that combines a doctor-trusted erectile dysfunction treatment with a statin, which can help protect at-risk men with erectile dysfunction from serious cardiovascular events, like heart attacks and strokes. These interactions between the providers and patients on our platform reflect a stark reality: 100 million Americans have multiple chronic health conditions – but the compounding capabilities available through Hims & Hers allow patients to access more personalized care that addresses multiple issues simultaneously and supports simpler treatment regimens.
This is exactly why I joined Hims & Hers as the Senior Vice President of Pharmacy Safety, Quality, and Compliance. I believe in the difference compounded medications can make in people’s lives – whether it is increasing access to treatments by creating a new form factor, upping adherence by combining two medications together, or finding the best dosage for an individual. Compounding is the basis of truly personalized care that treats every person like an individual, instead of just another patient. Compounding is not the creation of a new drug – it is simply using ingredients that have been safely available for years in a different formulation, combination, or updated dosage in order to offer an alternative based on a healthcare provider's assessment of what an individual needs.
With three decades of experience in sterile compounding, I’ve spent my career building safe, effective facilities and processes that result in compounded solutions patients can trust. I’ve joined Hims & Hers to further strengthen our affiliated pharmacies as they serve those tens of thousands of consumers who visit our platform weekly.

Compounding starts, first and foremost, in the consultation between the provider and the patient. The providers on the Hims & Hers platform determine, based on their assessment of that individual patient, whether or not a prescription medication is right for them and if a tailored compounded medication would best fit their individual needs. If the provider decides a compounded treatment is right, they can submit a prescription for fulfillment through one of our affiliated compounding pharmacies, who will ship it directly to the patient.
In between the prescription and the shipment, our world-class affiliated pharmacies get to work creating, packaging, and sending out the treatment. Our affiliated pharmacies in Arizona and Ohio are regulated by their respective state Boards of Pharmacy, meet strict FDA 503A requirements, and are run by world-class teams who are dedicated to maintaining a safe, clean, efficient environment, as well as ensuring the fulfillment and dispensing of all compounded products is done in compliance with applicable federal and state laws. Across both pharmacies, we have more than 70 pharmacists and nearly 150 pharmacy technicians in house, and each facility is led by a credentialed Pharmacist in Charge, each of whom have studied and worked in their local communities for years.
The ingredients we use are carefully researched and sourced in order to make sure that they are high quality: we verify that each active ingredient complies with specifications set by the United States Pharmacopeia — an independent, not-for-profit organization that sets quality and safety standards for medicine. We test formulations with a third-party analytical laboratory, ensuring that the potency and strength in the formulation is as labeled.
All of this allows providers to personalize treatments across almost every specialty at Hims & Hers, with solutions like Hard Mints, Hair Blends, Heart Health by Hims, and the newly announced Sex Rx + Climax Control, all of which offer access to treatments that can be tailored to the individual.
For many years, individuals have come to Hims & Hers to solve a single issue, while actually struggling with many. By offering providers the clinical capability to address multiple conditions in a single treatment, they can personalize prescriptions beyond what would be available in traditional pharmacies – and customers across our platform can access treatments tailored to their unique situations, conditions, and needs.
